Nick began competing in Triathlons in 2010 after 15 years of team sports in Australian Rules Football and Cricket, to focus on Iron and Half Iron Distance Triathlons.
After conquering his first full Iron Distance Triathlon in 2011 at Challenge Cairns, Nick decided that Triathlon was going to be his career and has developed himself as an Athlete, switched focus from Personal Training to Triathlon and Run Coaching and has recently begun his career as Professional Triathlete to race against the best in the world.
Coaching is Nick’s full time job and something that he is very passionate about. He has coached many athletes to extraordinary successes from first timers, intermediate and experienced athletes through all distances between 5km-ultras, Enticer Tri’s through to IRONMAN’s.
As well as beginners looking to complete their first goal race, Nick is also currently coaching athletes aiming for Boston Marathon Qualification, ITU Worlds, 70.3 Worlds and Kona Worlds and a whole heap of other goals.
A week spent at the Australian Institute of Sport in 2017 for the Triathlon Australia Performance Coaching Course added new tools, experience and knowledge to those tools Nick has already gained by his 2 main mentors in Dr Trevor Chetcuti and Dr Phil Maffetone. Nick started out as a beginner athlete and has raced and won multiple times in his category making him a great example of the methodology he follows and teaches.
With over 15yrs experience in helping people from all walks of life achieve their goals, and being a top athlete himself, Nick utilises not only his knowledge and comprehensive tool set, but also the great deal of experience to help move athletes forward.

ANDREW LAMOND
Andrew ran his first cross country race at the age of 2 in an attempt to keep up with his big brother. His love for distance running continued all through his childhood and even became his part time job through umpiring Australian Rules Football (AFL). At the age of 19, Andrew took a break from running to focus on becoming a primary school teacher.
Eight years later, Andrew was 35kg heavier and feeling like something was missing from his life. He began pushing the pram around Cairns Parkrun every Saturday because he was up anyway. 4:30am wake ups from the baby ensured he never missed a week. He was instantly hooked on bringing down his pram PB.
Over the eight years since, running has gone from a way to lose weight, stay healthy and sane, to a full-blown lifestyle. Andrew is always looking for opportunities to take his running to the next level. He has lost 25kg, gained many friends in the local running scene, broken PBs in distances from 3k all the way to the half marathon, and run his first marathon at Sydney in 2023. All while juggling full-time work and a young family.
Andrew is passionate about helping others experience the positive impacts of becoming a runner. He is focussed on one goal: growing the Cairns running community. Andrew has worked with many coaches and knows first hand how important it is to have someone guiding your training. He is influenced by Fitzgerald’s 80/20 principal to help people run more and Nick Bideau’s polarisation for performance.
Andrew’s ethos is simple: run today so that you can run tomorrow. He is passionate about building lifelong runners who are confident and capable of pursuing their goals, whatever they may be.
JONATHAN TINDALL
I have been involved in the sport of triathlon for 7 years and running for 10 years, competing in national and international events.
I have enjoyed racing over all distances from Sprint all the way up to long distance (Ironman) as well as completing ‘extreme’ challenges such as the toughest half ironman distance race in the world and 3 Marathons in 3 Days.
My proudest moments during this time have been:
• Winning a number of half marathons including the Great Barrier Reef Half Marathon (2017), Birmingham half marathon (2021), Cannock Chase half marathon (2022)
• Qualifying for and racing at the Ironman 70.3 world championships in 2017
• Finishing 3rd in my age group at the Duathlon world championships in 2019
• Oxfordshire marathon champion (2020), Running 2:38 at the London Marathon 2021
• Winning both my age group and the overall race at the Duathlon World Championship in 2022 I currently plan and coach swim, bike & run sessions for a range of athletes from total beginners to high performing individuals.
I am a Level 2 British Triathlon Coach and have experience coaching juniors, beginners and the seasoned athlete. Having gained experience training with and working alongside high performance coaches I have learned how to get the best out of individuals and help them achieve their goals.
I have trained and raced in both tropical and seasonal climates, which enables me to understand the difficulties associated with each and potential solutions. This enables athletes to maximise their training in an efficient manor all year round. I can also offer tips and advice on travelling for races.
I understand the difficulties surrounding time management and making sure training fits into you and your family’s lifestyle. I have 2 young children as well as a full time job as a Biology teacher and averaging 10-15 hours of training per week, showing it is possible to have a balanced lifestyle. I can offer advice on how to manage your time and plan sessions around your lifestyle.
I have a good understanding of the hydration strategies around training and racing, and have worked closely with Precision Hydration for the past 4 year improving not only my own strategies but also offering advice to people within my local triathlon club.
